Biljana Gjoneska

Biljana Gjoneska (MD, PhD) works at the interface of behavioral and medical sciences, in the domain of social psychology and neuroscience. Her special research interests revolve around problematic internet behaviors, including psychological aspects (dissemination of conspiratorial content), and health problems (behavioral addictions). Her work has been published by leading academic outlets like Lancet, Nature and Science publishing group (for scientific articles), as well as Oxford University Press, Rutledge, Sage Open and Springer (for her contributions in edited volumes).
In addition to conducting research, she serves the academic community by undertaking editorial roles in peer-reviewed journals, communicating science in blogs of scientific journals, and assuming leadership roles in prominent Big-Team-Science collaborations. She aims to improve generalizibility of scientific findings and promoteopen-science practices through cutting-edge, cross-cultural research.
In the small pockets of free time that are left, she careful places her songs, essays and short stories (written in her native language, but see here for a sample story in English). Dr. Gjoneska has won a couple of short story awards and has been included in several anthologies in her native country.
