The Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei has opened nominations for the 2027 Antonio Feltrinelli Prizes, one of Italy's most distinguished scientific and cultural awards.

Established through the testamentary legacy of Antonio Feltrinelli, the prizes recognise outstanding achievements across the sciences, humanities and the arts. They are open to nominations from Fellows and Presidents of Italian and foreign academies.

The 2027 edition includes:

• Seven International Prizes, each worth €100,000, recognising excellence in Historical Sciences, Linguistics, Computer Sciences and Applications, European Literature, Photography, Theatre and Medicine.
• Four National Prizes for Italian citizens, each worth €65,000, in Philology, Comparative Literature, Literary Criticism and Literary Translation.
• Fourteen Antonio Feltrinelli Giovani Prizes, each worth €50,000, for Italian scholars under the age of 40 whose work represents a significant and original contribution to their field. The awards span disciplines including chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, computer science, mathematics, law, economics, philosophy, archaeology and the arts.
• The Academy also encourages nominations of outstanding Italian scholars working at universities and research institutions outside Italy.

Nominations must be submitted by 31 October 2026 and include a curriculum vitae, publication list and a detailed statement of the nominee's scientific achievements.
