Call for Nominations: Stockholm Water Prize 2027

Nominations are now open for the 2027 Stockholm Water Prize, widely recognised as the world's most prestigious award for achievements in water. Presented by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in collaboration with the Stockholm Water Foundation, the Prize honours individuals and organisations whose work has made an outstanding contribution to the sustainable use and protection of the world's water resources.

The Prize recognises excellence across research, policy, education, technology and practice. Nominees may be recognised for scientific discoveries, innovative solutions or leadership that has improved water management, strengthened ecosystems or advanced human health and well-being.

Anyone may submit a nomination, although self-nominations and nominations by individuals with direct professional or family ties to the candidate are not accepted. The organisers particularly encourage nominations that recognise women leaders in the water sector.

The nomination period is open until 15 September 2026.
