IANAS launches three calls to support young women researchers in the Americas

The Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS) is launching three calls to support young women researchers in the Americas: the Anneke Levelt-Senger prize, the video contest ‘Let’s Discover Latin American Female Scientist’ and the Young Scientist Research Award (YSRA).

1) The Anneke Levelt-Senger prize - named after and in recognition of her outstanding work devoted to promoting women for science in the Americas - for young women scientists for 2023. This prize has been awarded to young scientists for four years (Venezuela in 2012, Cuba in 2016, Colombia in 2018 and Uruguay in 2021).
The application period opens on 10 May 2023 and the deadline to submit nominations is 10 June 2023. This prize is coordinated and supported by IAP and IANAS.

2)The ‘Let’s Discover Latin American Female Scientist’ (in Spanish, ‘Descubramos a las Científicas Latinoamericanas’), is a video contest organized by IANAS Women for Science programme, aimed to young students in Latin America, with the goal of continuing to promote and disseminate the participation of women in research and development activities in Latin America.
The application period is from 15 to 31 May 2023.

3) The Young Scientist Research Award (YSRA) is an award specifically for a young woman scientist no more than 4-5 years after her thesis defense.
The application period opens on 10 May 2023 and the deadline for the academies to submit nominations is 10 June 2023. This prize is coordinated and supported by IAP and IANAS.
