

Dr. Paramdeep Singh who is a 2019 batch alumnus of the IAP Young Physician Leaders (YPL) programme has earned a place in the prestigious “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list compiled by Stanford University, United States of Ameria.
The Elsevier-Stanford University ranking identifies leading researchers globally based on their citation impact, using data drawn from the Scopus database and a composite indicator (c-score). The list evaluates scientists across 22 broad fields and 174 subfields, providing a recognized benchmark for research productivity, influence, and scholarly impact. This recognition follows a rigorous global assessment, taking into account multiple parameters, including research output, citation indices, and overall impact across disciplines.
Dr. Singh is currently working as an Additional Professor and Head of the Department of Radiology at AIIMS Bathinda, is a distinguished academician, clinician, and researcher with significant contributions to medical imaging and global health. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Patiala, followed by an MD in Radiology from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana.
Dr. Singh is an active member of several national and international scientific bodies and committees, and has served as Investigator many funded projects. His expertise spans medical imaging, biomedical research, and global health.
With over 150 peer-reviewed publications, two authored books, numerous scientific presentations, and popular science articles, Dr. Singh has established himself as a leading voice in radiology and public health research. He is the author of a pioneering text correlating radiological and cadaveric brain and skull anatomy and has contributed to high-impact global health studies published in journals such as The Lancet.
His academic achievements have earned him several prestigious awards, including the National Best Medical Teacher Award (IMA), National Young Academic Excellence Award (IMA), Young Investigator Award (World Stroke Organization), and the President’s Appreciation Award (IRIA), among others. As an educator and mentor, he guides postgraduate students, organizes seminars, workshops, and journal clubs, and contributes as a subject expert for national medical examinations. Under his leadership, the Department of Radiology at AIIMS Bathinda has advanced in both clinical services and research, with a strong focus on collaborative programs and public health initiatives.
Beyond academia, Dr. Singh actively engages in science outreach, health awareness campaigns, and rural healthcare programs, reflecting his commitment to community well-being.
