Opportunities to participate in IPBES processes

The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) recently issued notifications regarding opportunities to participate in its activities.

  • Call for nomination of experts to participate in the thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (nexus assessment) and the thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (transformative change assessment): Interested experts are invited to submit applications by 6 September 2021; nominators (Governments or organizations) are invited to submit their nominations by 13 September 2021. More detailed information on the process of application and nomination can be found in notification EM/2021/17.
  • Call for nomination of early-career scientists to participate as fellows in the above-mentioned assessments: Interested individuals are invited to submit applications by 20 September 2021; nominators (Governments or organizations) are invited to submit their nominations by 27 September 2021. More detailed information on the process of application and nomination can be found in notification EM/2021/19.
  • Call for for the IPBES Committee on Conflicts of Interest from the Asia-Pacific Group: IPBES members from the Asia-Pacific region are invited to submit nominations by 30 September 2021 (EM/2021/18). Nominations should be made by completing the nomination form at https://ipbes.net/nomination-coi-2021, including the submission of a curriculum vitae of the nominee. Early nominations ahead of the deadline are encouraged.
