Science Advice for Policy in North Africa: Virtual Roundtable to Explore Regional Perspectives

Policy for Science

The International Network for Government Science Advice – Africa Regional Chapter (INGSA-Africa) and the Tunisian Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts – Beit El Hikma will co-host an online Northern Africa Regional Dissemination Roundtable on “The Evolving Science Advisory Landscape in Africa” on 15 October 2025 at 12:00 PM (Tunis / UTC+1).

This important virtual dialogue will spotlight the science advisory landscape in North Africa, drawing insights from the Consensus Study Report, The Evolving Science Advisory Landscape in Africa. The event will bring together leading scientists, policymakers, and academy representatives to discuss how to strengthen evidence-informed policymaking and enhance science-policy interfaces across the region.

A Platform to Strengthen Regional Collaboration

The roundtable will feature contributions from distinguished speakers and experts representing national academies and science advisory institutions across Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia.

By sharing experiences and lessons from the Consensus Study Report, the event aims to foster collaboration among North African countries. Participants will learn about capacity-building opportunities, including INGSA-Africa’s virtual mentoring programme on science advice for early- and mid-career professionals.
