Environment & Climate
Registration will close on 13 March 2022

The Government and Expert Review of the Synthesis Report of the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will take place from 10 January to 20 March 2022, 23:59 (GMT+1).

The review of draft reports is a key element of the IPCC assessment process. The IPCC Procedures state that the Expert review process shall be objective, open and transparent, with a wide circulation that aims to involve as many independent Experts as possible in the IPCC process, seeking a range of views, Expertise, and geographical representation.

IPCC observer organizations are now invited to encourage Experts to participate as Expert Reviewers in the AR6 Synthesis Report Government and Expert Review of the FOD. Please note that such Experts provide reviews under their own name; not representing the observer organization.

An online registration process has been prepared and is open for prospective Expert reviewers via the IPCC web site. Registration will close on 13 March 2022, 23:59 (GMT+1), one week before the end of the review period: https://apps.ipcc.ch/comments/ar6syr/fod/register.php.

Additional information on the role of Expert Reviewers is available in Annex 1 of Appendix A to the Principles  Governing  IPCC  Work.  Please  also  see  here  an  information  note  explaining  the  Expert Review process: https://apps.ipcc.ch/comments/ar6syr/fod/help/AR6_SYR_FOD_explanatory_note.pdf.
