Dr. Bella _ Awusah is a lecturer at the University of Ibadan and Honourary Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to the University College Hospital Ibadan, Nigeria. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Ibadan and fellowship in Psychiatry from the West African College of Physicians. She recently graduated with a distinction from the MacArthur funded Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (MSc. CAMH) programme at the Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She was also the recipient of the World Psychiatry Association Mood Disorders Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, United States in 2010. She is passionate about improving the mental health of women, infants, children and adolescents and works as a leader of multidisciplinary teams of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) professionals in the sectors of health, education and juvenile justice to develop services and interventions, as well as to promote and advocate for CAMH in sub- Saharan Africa. She has been involved in a number of International collaborative projects with this focus. She has published in peer reviewed journals and is also a reviewer for some. She is currently the West African correspondent for the Bulletin of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied professions (IACAPAP) and the President elect of the African Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
